Terms & Privacy Policy

Effective November 1, 2026

Welcome to the website of Community Presbyterian Church of Vallejo ("the Church," "we," "us"). We're glad you're here. These terms explain how our website works and what we ask of everyone who uses it. By using cpcvallejo.org, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site, and feel free to reach out with any questions.

Using our website

Our website exists to share news, worship, and ways to connect with our community. Please use it for those purposes. We ask that you don't:

  • Use the site for anything unlawful, harmful, or harassing

  • Try to break into, disrupt, or overload the site or its systems

  • Submit false information or impersonate someone else

  • Copy large portions of the site for commercial use without permission

We may update, pause, or remove parts of the site at any time.

Online giving

Thank you for supporting the ministry of the Church. Online gifts are processed by our third-party provider, Vanco. When you give online, you also agree to their terms and privacy policy. We never see or store your full card or bank account number.

  • Gifts are voluntary and generally non-refundable. If you made a mistake, such as a duplicate gift or wrong amount, contact the church office within 30 days and we'll work with you to correct it.

  • Recurring gifts continue until you cancel them. You can change or cancel a recurring gift through Vanco or by contacting the office.

  • Designated gifts are used for the purpose you choose whenever possible. If that purpose is completed or no longer possible, the Church's session may direct the gift to a similar need.

  • Tax receipts. The Church is a tax-exempt religious organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. We provide giving statements for your records. Please consult a tax professional about deductibility.

Event and class registration

When you sign up for an event, class, or program through our site or Squarespace, please give accurate information. If you register a child, you confirm that you are their parent or legal guardian, or have their permission. Some activities may require a separate waiver or permission form. Events may change or be canceled; we'll do our best to let registered participants know.

Livestreams, videos, and photos

We livestream and record many of our worship services and events, and we may take photos for our website, newsletter, and social media. Livestreams and recordings are shared through YouTube.

By attending a service or event, you understand you may appear in photos or video. If you'd prefer not to be shown, please let an usher, staff member, or the church office know, and we'll make every reasonable effort to honor your request. We do not identify children by full name in photos or video without a parent's or guardian's permission.

Facility rental requests

Our website may let you submit a request to use our building. Submitting a request does not reserve the space. All rentals are confirmed only by written approval from the Church and are governed by our separate Facility Use Agreement, including its fees, deposits, insurance, and conduct requirements.

Our content

Sermons, music arrangements, videos, photos, logos, and written material on this site belong to the Church or are used with permission. You're welcome to share links and to use our content for personal, non-commercial purposes such as devotion, study, or sharing with friends. Please ask before republishing, editing, or using our content commercially. Some hymns and songs are used under licenses that don't allow re-distribution.

Links to other websites

Our site links to other organizations, such as our denomination, presbytery, and community partners. We're not responsible for their content, practices, or availability.

Privacy

Your privacy matters to us. Please read our Privacy Policy to learn what information we collect and how we use it.

Privacy Policy

Effective November 1, 2026

Community Presbyterian Church of Vallejo respects your privacy. We collect only what we need to serve our congregation and community, and we never sell your personal information. This policy explains what we collect through cpcvallejo.org and how we use it.

What we collect

  • Information you give us: your name, email, phone, mailing address, and anything you include when you fill out a contact form, prayer request, event registration, or facility rental request.

  • Giving information: gift amounts and dates, plus your name and contact details for giving statements. Payment details are handled by Vanco; we do not receive or store full card or bank account numbers.

  • Children's information: when a parent or guardian registers a child for a program, we collect what we need for that program, such as name, age, allergies, and emergency contacts.

  • Basic site data: like most websites, we may collect general information such as browser type, pages visited, and approximate location through cookies and Squarespace's built-in site statistics. This helps us understand how the site is used.

How we use it

  • To respond to your messages and prayer requests

  • To process gifts and send giving statements

  • To manage event registrations, classes, and facility requests

  • To share church news, if you've asked to receive it

  • To keep children safe in our programs

  • To improve our website

Prayer requests are shared only as you direct, for example with pastoral staff or a prayer team. We will not publish a prayer request without your permission.

Who we share it with

We don't sell, rent, or trade your information. We share it only:

  • With trusted service providers that help us run the site, process gifts, or manage registrations, such as Vanco and Squarespace. They may use it only to provide those services.

  • With our denomination or presbytery when required for church records

  • When required by law, or to protect someone's safety

Email and communications

If you sign up for our newsletter or announcements, you can unsubscribe anytime using the link in any email or by contacting the office.

Children's privacy

Our website is not designed for children under 13 to use on their own, and we don't knowingly collect information directly from them online. Children's information comes to us from a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us and we'll delete it.

Cookies

Cookies are small files stored by your browser. You can block or delete them in your browser settings; the site will still work, though some features may not. Embedded videos from YouTube may set their own cookies under that platform's policy.

How we protect it

We use reasonable safeguards and limit access to people who need it to do their ministry or job. No website is completely secure, so please avoid sending sensitive details, such as health or financial information, through general contact forms.

Your choices and California rights

You may ask us to see, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop sending you communications. Just contact the office and we'll respond within a reasonable time. We keep giving records as long as required for tax and financial purposes.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time and will change the effective date above when we do.
